Switch Tenant
Overview
When your account belongs to both a personal workspace and one or more enterprise tenants, you can switch between them using the tenant switcher. This allows you to seamlessly transition between personal projects and enterprise-managed resources without logging out.
Each tenant has its own set of applications, API keys, billing information, and member permissions. Switching tenants changes the context for all platform features.
Prerequisites
- Your account must belong to at least one enterprise (i.e., you have completed enterprise certification or have been invited to an enterprise).
- You must be logged in to the platform.
Steps
1. Open the User Dropdown Menu
Click your avatar or username in the top-right corner of the platform header to open the user dropdown menu.
2. Select "Switch Tenant"
From the dropdown menu, click "Switch Tenant".
3. View Available Tenants
The tenant switcher modal opens, displaying all tenants you belong to, organized into groups:
| Group | Description |
|---|---|
| Current | The tenant you are currently using (highlighted). |
| Enterprise | All enterprise tenants your account belongs to. |
| Personal | Your personal workspace tenant. |
4. Search for a Tenant (Optional)
If you have access to many tenants, use the search bar at the top of the modal to filter tenants by name.
5. Switch to a Different Tenant
Click on the tenant you want to switch to. The platform immediately switches your context to the selected tenant.
After switching, the sidebar, applications, billing, and member information all reflect the new tenant context. The modal closes automatically.
Use Cases
Enterprise + Personal Workspaces
A common scenario is having both an enterprise workspace for team collaboration and a personal workspace for individual projects. Use the tenant switcher to move between them as needed.
- Use the enterprise tenant for team projects, shared API keys, and collaborative work.
- Use the personal tenant for personal experiments, testing, and individual projects.
Multiple Enterprise Memberships
If you are a member of multiple enterprises, you can switch between them to manage different teams and resources.
Notes
- Switching tenants does not log you out or affect your authentication session.
- The current tenant is displayed next to your avatar in the header.
- All unsaved work in the current tenant context is preserved when you switch back.
- If you are removed from an enterprise while using that tenant, you will be automatically redirected to your personal tenant.
- Billing information and balance are tenant-specific — switching tenants changes the billing context.
